Become a Muse for 2016-2017
Some of our newest volunteers will be joining us on Thursday, October 20 at the First Reformed Church of Schenectady (8 N Church St) from 6-8 pm. We’ll be reviewing the Sexual Abuse Policy and the Volunteer Policy, and we’ll follow that with some dedicated training for our 8th grade muses, who will begin Girls’ Circles soon. Muses are trained in October and November, and many muses choose to assist with our annual Girls’ Day Out (GDO) event for 7th graders, which will be held on November 16, 2016 at the Glen Sanders Mansion. Muses working with 7th graders will start their Girls’ Circles start after Girls’ Day Out and last into the spring. Muses for 8th grade girls (who are continuing with the program) will have earlier training and start a bit earlier (in November).
Right now we are pairing muses, communicating with SCSD clinicians and administrators, and getting schedules ready. If you’re considering becoming a muse this year, please contact us as soon as possible.
